A mom reads you like a book, and wherever she goes, people read you like a glowing book review. ~Robert Brault, www.robertbrault.com
Sunday 31st of March is Mothering Sunday here in Ireland. I was lucky enough to have my mum here this morning and could wish her a happy Mother’s day in person.
It was a busy day around the kitchen table in the Shiels house as we had aunts and cousins and Mammy Byrne stay over.
In the afternoon we had Darren’s mum and dad and his brother and sister-in-law over for dinner.
I love having a full house and the sound of conversation and laughter.
After our lovely family departed and the kitchen was returned to a relatively tidy state we retired to the sitting room and flaked out on the couch enveloped in happiness.
A busy weekend was had but it was one filled with warmth, fun and laughter. The kind that comes with family and friends and lingers for sometime after they have left.
The rhythm of the weekend, with its birth, its planned gaieties, and its announced end, followed the rhythm of life and was a substitute for it. ~F. Scott Fitzgerald
