Good Morning From Crabtree Cottage

Family / Life / Love

It’s a quiet morning here at Crabtree Cottage. I thought I’d make some soda bread before  the  weekend madness begins. Had everything ready for off when I realised I couldn’t find the measuring cup.

As the kitchen is extremely tidy and clutter free since the  big clear out last week I can only assume that my little measuring cup has been placed with the to go pile and is no longer with us. It had huge sentimental value as it was the last bottle my youngest child used and has been knocking about the house for longer than I’ve had my kitchen!

I remember watching my Dad bake everything from pancakes to beautiful wedding cakes and not a measuring jug or weighing scales in sight. He dealt in cups of this, pinches of that and sprinklings of the other. Fingers crossed his observation and estimation skills have been passed on and my soda bread will be just right!

Hope you are having a lovely weekend where ever you happen to be and what ever you happen to be doing.

Slán agus beannacht.

I'm living on the Leitrim border with my lovely husband and two terrific kids. It's the little piece of heaven that I dreamed of growing up. I work in Adult Education by day and during my free time I read, write, knit, plant and bake not always in that order. I blog about life, love, family and everything in between. Pull up a chair and have a browse while you're here. All the best, Karen
